Going Beyond My Tried and True Communication
As technology increases, modes of communication continues to expand. There are a few ways of communication that I rely upon when connecting with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
STUDENTS & PARENTS I communicate with students and parents primarily via phone conversations, texts, emails, and the Remind app.
In addition, students use Google Drive and Screencastify to share documents, collaborate, and video record activities/assignments.
STAFF & ADMIN Staff and administration use email and the Whats app for day to day communications. Google Drive is heavily used for collaboration and Google Meet is used for small meetings. Zoom is used for trainings to best accommodate the size of our staff.

My students, as it is with many students today, are social media natives. They have grown up in a day and age where, in their words, "Social media is my life." I would love to implement more social media tools such as Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, and Tik Tok into my class in order to help my students make connections to learning and the world around them.
Social media in the classroom not only benefits students, but also allows me to expand my learning as an educator. These tools allow teachers to connect, collaborate, and learn from one another.
